Halloween at Kimber Hollow 2014

The Kimber Hollow 2014 art yard haunt video is *finally* live!

You may commence “The Wednesday (Addams) Dance” or “The Mamushka” or ”Thriller”…
Whichever makes you look scarier.

Truly though, I hope you enjoy the setup. I had a bad year (medical issues) so we had to set everything up in one day so most of the details we pride our design on didn’t get outst the house.

If you’ll be in the Gainesville Florida area for Halloween night 2015, we’d love to have you stop by, snap photos with the creepy ghouls or tombstones, and… Oh yes… They’ll be a TON of candy!
#HFL!!

Boo y’all,

Charity Bake Sale: Cupcakes Against Breast Cancer

Last week Studio Bionic participated in NCCER’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer charity bake sale. We baked, designed, and packaged, two dozen gluten-free Pink Velvet and Creamsicle cupcakes.

The following is a tale of what happens when designers love to bake…

Pink Velvet gluten free cupcakes for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer charity bake sale

Thanks to ClearBags’ extra tall, super clear cupcake bags (with plenty of frosting clearance!) and Sweets & Treats colorful, no-fade cupcake liners, our gluten free cupcakes looked amazing!

We used printable round kraft labels to close up the bags and give the presentation a “Rustic Modern” look. At least I call it Rustic Modern… regardless of terminology, it’s the inspiration behind Studio Bionic’s branding identity.

The hot pink and white cupcake liners were absolutely gorgeous on their own. We set it up so each flavor had a unique liner design – the Creamsicles got baked in quatrefoil liners and the Pink Velvets wore a damask print. If you’ve ever baked cupcakes, you’re aware how much colored liners fade after baking.
They turn transparent.
Grr.
Well… the frustration is over!
Sweets & Treats cupcake liners keep their color. Even the white stays WHITE! Yeehaw!

We wanted the two dozen to have a cohesive look even though they had different flavors, colors, and frostings. So I made little sprinkles shaped like the “Breast Cancer Awareness” ribbon. Then we took paper doilies: cut them up & glued them into wrappers; then slipped one over each cupcake’s liner. I really loved the end result of the wrappers since they let the liner underneath peek through.

The best part of the whole shindig was NCCER raised over $500 for their Making Strides Against Breast Cancer team!
